The Wilmington Model Flying Club (WMFC) has been in the Wilmington area for over 20 years. Originally formed around Olsen Field, the latest home is the superb Highsmith Field located near Currie, NC.

WMFC has been approved as a FRIA location and a Class G airspace. Pilots ARE NOT REQUIRED to have FAA Remote ID modules in their RC aircraft or transmit digital location data while flying. All pilots flying within the boundaries of the WMFC Field and not exceeding the 1200 foot ceiling, are free to fly without any Remote ID equipment.
