Student Handbook
The Student Handbook is designed to safely guide new pilots from their first day at the field through becoming a qualified solo flyer. It outlines the club’s structured training program, expectations, and safety standards so every member learns at a comfortable pace while flying responsibly.
The handbook covers mandatory ground school, step-by-step flight training milestones, pre-flight safety checks, basic aerodynamics, field procedures, and the qualification flight required before flying solo. It also explains AMA safety requirements and WMFC field rules to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all members.
For new flyers, this handbook serves as both a training roadmap and safety reference, helping you build confidence, skill, and good habits while flying with experienced instructors and fellow club members.
